How to Make Marijuana Pizza

The opportunities are endless when it comes to making edibles. Common ‘baked’ goods include brownies, cookies and other treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you are in the mood for a more savory dish, you might consider making your own THC-infused Pizza! Listed below are three different baking options for you to infuse your pizza!

Pot and Pizza has always been a great combination but now you can get high while eating pizza, rather than the classic cure for the munchies. This is an awesome recipe because it’s easy to make and there is no smell. Today we are going to making a single serving but the same math can be applied to make a whole pie. Before we get started, you are going to need the following:

Cannabis Pizza: It’s All in the Oil

One way to make a cannabis pizza is to sprinkle ground cannabis right into the cheese. However, this will add a strange taste and texture. Furthermore, you would likely be disappointed to find that the effects are minimal because the weed has not adequately been decarboxylated. In other words, the cannabinoids are inactive. It’s great if you want to consume THCA but futile if you’re seeking THC and CBD.

Technically, you could infuse the pizza dough with cannabis by substituting the olive oil for canna-oil. That’s an easy substitution to make in this recipe. However, we have opted for a cannabis-infused chili oil for drizzling on top, and here’s why:

  • It’s authentically Italian to have a bottle of chili oil on the table that you can pour over the top of your pizza. It just adds another layer of culinary skill that will impress your guests.
  • Dosage control is much easier. Since the THC is in the oil and not the pizza, any friends you have over can make the decision whether or not to consume Mary Jane without you having to make a whole separate pizza.
  • It’s extra tasty.

Below, we cover how to make cannabis-infused chili oil. And later on, we cover some of the best strains to use depending on your pizza toppings of choice.

How to Make a Cannabis-Infused Chilli Oil

Making this recipe is really easy, but it does take a bit of time. If you choose to make canna-oil and infuse it into the pizza base, then feel free to skip the step with the chilies. We recommend using olive oil for the best possible flavor.

First, grab your favorite cannabis strain. With an average strength of about 22% THC, you will only need 1g of cannabis to infuse each slice of pizza with 5mg. Feel free to adjust the dose as necessary, but make sure you calculate the desired potency before you get cooking. Start by decarboxylating the cannabis by baking it for 30-45 minutes.

This recipe makes 1 cup of canna-oil. You won’t need it all, but it keeps well in a sealed bottle.

  1. Add 1 cup of olive oil to a saucepan or double boiler. Pour in the decarboxylated cannabis, ground coarsely.
  2. Cook the mixture over the lowest heat setting for about 3 hours. Stir it occasionally and ensure that it never boils or scorches.
  3. Strain the canna-oil through a cheesecloth to remove the used plant matter. The easiest thing to do is strain it directly into another saucepan.
  4. Add two dried red chilies and 20g dried chili flakes to the oil. Warm the oil through for 3-4 minutes, then turn off the heat.
  5. When the oil has cooled slightly, funnel it into a sealable bottle. Refrigerate until ready for use.

Marijuana-Infused Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon Already Been Vaped (ABV). If you are using decarb weed, just use 1/4 teaspoon!
  • 1 slice of cooked pizza

Notice that pizza is baked at 400°F or even more. At that temperature the THC will vaporise right in the oven. Raw cannabis, on the other hand, does not go well with your body- it has to be decarboxylated first, but the process takes a comparatively longer time. Check out our guide on decarbing weed, if you would like to use this method.

Thus, simply reheat already-cooked pizza in the microwave and you will be able to use decarboxylated ABV at a sufficiently high temperature so that it mixes with the cheese fat and for a sufficiently short duration to avoid vaporizing more cannabinoids.

Take the pizza slice and sprinkle the AVB on it as though you were sprinkling oregano. Make sure that you take off the toppings temporarily so that the AVB is directly on top of the cheese. Heat the slice of pizza in the microwave for around 20 to 30 seconds depending on the thickness of the crust or till the cheese just about melts. There you are! Add the toppings back and enjoy your Pot Pizza!

Beware! Wait for at least two hours before you eat another slice- the cheese takes it time letting the pot get to you! The whole experience of a single slice could last you as much as 4 to 6 hours! So just do not mess with the quantity of weed prescribed on the pizza- you may not know what you are in for!

1. Make a Cannabutter Crust

If you don’t want to infuse the entire pizza, you can just stick to the crust! After making your own cannabutter, drizzle it on top of the crust before placing it in the oven to bake! If you don’t use butter, you can substitute olive oil instead! Dispensaries in Ohio even have olive oil available for purchase, so you don’t have to worry about making your own!

2. Infuse Your Pizza Sauce

Another popular way to infuse your pizza is to add your cannabutter in your pizza sauce. Tinctures are also a great way to mix if you don’t want to make your own butter. Simply add the desired amount of tincture oil to your pizza sauce and voila!

3. Utilize Leftover Pizza

If you aren’t in the mood for tons of cooking and cleaning, we have a solution for you! Go pick up your favorite frozen pizza and add your already used cannabis on top. The brown aftermath of your cannabis doesn’t always need to be thrown away! You can add this as a topping, and it will work the same as the other methods listed.

Have you ever made THC-infused pizza? What is your favorite way to cook with cannabis?
